Our country’s misaligned,
Confused, and going blind
With rage and fear.
This Independence Day
No one can safely say
If freedom will continue here,
Or fade away.
Joe and his Donkey team
Hauled off Trump’s fascist dream,
But racists thrive.
McConnell’s rabid rants
Give Nazi bands a chance
To come alive.
Old Abe hoped government
Of, by, and for us all
Would long survive.
Today we must again
Speak out against the men
Who seek our ruin to contrive
And cheer our fall.
