Should Hispanics be Brown?
In Spanish it’s Marron,
And comes in many hues.
Folks from East Asia
Aren’t Yellow, they are Beige.
Should Caucasians like me
Get a capital C?
Why can’t we be White?
Which ethnic term is right?
The subject is too fraught
With danger to be broached
Without unpleasant thoughts
And furious reproach.
May future generations
Enjoy miscegenation
Till all are lightly sun-burned
And bigotry is unlearned.
